Department Profile

The Department of Electronics and Communications was established in the year 2008 with an intake of 60 students and subsequently enhanced to 180 students in the year 2014. The department also offers M.Tech Programme in VLSI Design from the academic year 2012 with an intake of 18 students. The department is well equipped with state-of-art laboratories and highly qualified staff.

Aim of the Department

  • To give the students real-time experience and help them learn the true functional elements of ELECTRONICS & COMMUNICATION.
  • The department has always been at the forefront in producing the quality engineers.
  • To give an extra mileage to the students by training them on software design and hardware-software integration so as to create more space for them in the job market.

The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering is headed by Dr. L. Bharathi received the Doctorate degree in Optical Burst Switching Networks from Anna University, Chennai, Tamilnadu in 2018, and the Master of Technology in Opto-Electronics and Laser Technology from Cochin University of Science and Technology, Cochin, Kerala in 2000. His current research and teaching interests are in Optical Communication, Optical Switching Networks, Wireless Sensor Networks and Analog Electronics Design. He has authored more than 15 research publications in National / International Journals and Conferences. He has attended and organized several Seminars, Workshops and Faculty Development Program pertaining to imparting the knowledge regarding the human resource. He is an active member of Professional bodies like MISTE, ISRD, IAENG and IRED. He has over 18 years of teaching experience in various positions at Tamilnadu, Andhra Pradesh and Libya (Foreign Country).
